HEALTHY MUNICIPALITIES IN RIO GRANDE RECORDED THE PROJECT "WALKING AND GUIDED PHYSICAL ACTIVITY FOR BETTER HEALTH"

The initiative of the municipality of the province of Tierra del Fuego
seeks to respond to the problem of the high prevalence of chronic
noncommunicable diseases, following the analysis of local health situation.
Director of Municipalities and Communities, Bibiana García, next to the
National and Program of Cities, Municipalities and Communities (PNCMCS)
experts from the Directorate General for Public Information and
Communication of the Secretariat of Government Health team visited the
fueguino municipality for the audiovisual record of winning project of
local experiences "Our video project".
It is based on a comprehensive approach that includes walking and physical
activity accompanied by specialized professionals, lectures and
personalized advice on healthy eating and clinical follow-up. The project
provides patients with high risk factors, referenced to the Municipal
Health Center No. 1, a supportive environment, as well as strategies to
take healthier lifestyles.
During the visit interviews they were conducted and recorded some of the
actions implemented. Participants and beneficiaries highlighted the success
that has taken the initiative and noted as an important factor for
sustainability, and ensure access to the aforementioned activities, it has
become a space for socialization, exchange and support among people of the
community.
The Healthy Cities program considers communication as a strategic axis for
health promotion, and therefore encourages and accompanies the use of
instruments and novel along different instances that journeys
implementation of policies communicational tools. It is expected that the
audiovisual resulting from this record is enriching for those
municipalities working the issue of chronic noncommunicable diseases and
their risk factors.
In addition to the experience of Rio Grande, Healthy Cities has eight
audiovisual conducted on local projects in health promotion. They are
