NEW LACTARY IN THE MINISTRY OF EDUCATION, CULTURE, SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY

National education portfolio inaugurated a Lactary on the second floor of
the Palacio Sarmiento, for mothers with infants can perform the removal
procedure safely breast milk hygiene, preservation and privacy.
This space is the result of joint work of ministry officials and
representatives of unions: UPCN and ATE. In turn, the incorporation, which
meets the guidelines of Law No. 26,873 Law establishes the promotion and
public awareness about the importance of breastfeeding and best practices
safe for infants and children nutrition, and is part of the commitments
made by the National public Administration in promoting the opening of milk
feeders in public bodies.
The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends exclusive breastfeeding
extend up to six months and additional up to two years. In 2011, WHO issued
a recommendation which suggests installing friendly spaces for
breastfeeding outside the home. Thus, to be able to live these two tasks,
milk feeders are presented as a possibility not to stop breastfeeding.
