THE GOVERNMENT PROVIDED HOUSING COMMODORE NEIGHBORS AFFECTED BY MUDSLIDE
The government delivered in the city of Comodoro Rivadavia Chubut, the
first 39 of a total of 83 houses to resettle families affected by the flood
that devastated much of the urban area. The units are located in the
neighborhood Restinga Ali and built with more than 65 million pesos
investment, the Ministry of Interior, Public Works and Housing. The project
includes 54 homes built through the National Housing Plan (PNV) and the
remaining 29 by an agreement with the United Nations under the
steel-framing system. In addition, 15 are running sustainable improvements
and reconstructions own kind in batches, while another group of victims
received vouchers for the purchase of building materials. Government
actions, in addition to housing solutions, included infrastructure, water
connections, sewer and paving in different districts. In March 2017,
Comodoro Rivadavia, one of the most densely populated cities in the
Patagonia was affected for several days by severe storms and an avalanche
that struck the village and forced the evacuation of a thousand
inhabitants. In the ceremony, Secretary of Housing, Ivan Kerr said
that "working seriously and planned, honest, along with provincial and
municipal bodies, are carrying out the changes that Argentina needs to
develop seriously instead of momentary patches ".
