Insisten en la importancia de destruir rastrojos luego de cosechar algodón El Senasa y el Ministerio de Producción de Chaco acordaron realizar tareas de fiscalización conjunta después del 15 de junio para combatir el picudo del algodonero. martes 10 de marzo de 2020 SAENZ PEÑA (Chaco) - En la primera reunión anual de la Comisión Provincial de Sanidad Vegetal (Coprosave) del Chaco, el Servicio Nacional de Sanidad y Calidad Agroalimentaria (Senasa) y el Ministerio de Producción, Industria y Empleo acordaron trabajar de manera conjunta para fiscalizar la destrucción de los restos del cultivo de algodón, práctica indispensable para evitar la dispersión del picudo y que tiene como fecha límite el 15 de junio. Al encuentro asistieron, en representación del Ministerio de Producción, Industria y Empleo, la subsecretaria de Agricultura, Flavia Francescutti y los directores de Fiscalización y Control Fitosanitario, Juan Armando Chancalay; de Producción Algodonera, Guido Copetti; de Desarrollo Algodonero, Rubén Bast; y de Agencias, Marcelo Leyes. Por el INTA estuvo presente Marita Simonella y por el Senasa, Natalia Vaca y Julio González. Se trata de la primera reunión anual de la máxima autoridad sanitaria vegetal de la provincia y el primer encuentro en el que participa Francescutti desde que asumió el cargo público, por lo que las instituciones explicaron cómo se viene trabajando en este ámbito, cuál es la situación del picudo y del cultivo del algodón en la provincia. En virtud del panorama delicado que se le presenta al cultivo del algodón en la provincia por el avance del picudo (situación que se ve favorecida por el clima), las autoridades del Ministerio de Producción junto con los referentes del Senasa, acordaron trabajar de manera conjunta. Desde la cartera industrial-productiva se adelantó que desde el 16 de marzo se entregará a los productores feromonas para las trampas de picudo, operativo que se desplegará en las delegaciones que posee el Ministerio en las distintas localidades de la provincia. HLB Y LANGOSTASAdemás, ambas instituciones se comprometieron a realizar en abril un monitoreo intensivo en el marco del programa de Prevención del Huanglongbing (HLB), a fin de conocer la situación provincial de esta enfermedad que afecta a los cítricos y evaluar su condición fitosanitaria. Finalmente, los equipos de trabajo de ambos organismos abordaron la situación actual de langostas y comentaron a los presentes lo que fue resuelto en el Seminario Regional sobre langostas junto con la Iniciativa Global de Langosta (GLI, por sus siglas en inglés) de la Universidad Estatal de Arizona (ASU) de Estados Unidos, llevado a cabo en San Miguel de Tucumán.
