NOA INSPECTORS TRAINING IN RECOGNIZING MITES

The National Health Service and Food Quality (Senasa) conducted
the "Meeting of inspectors assigned to monitoring mites and quarantine of
agricultural importance NOA" in the premises of the station experimental
Tropical Crops (EECT) INTA Yuto in the province of Jujuy. Senasa
implemented in the region of NOA surveillance system for different pests
that affect fruit crops (citrus, avocado, banana). Among the activities
scheduled the monitoring of acarofauna present in these productions are
mainly from those species that are of agricultural interest and Quarantine.
During the meeting he was trained field inspectors responsible for the
sampling, for quick identification of the pest. For this Regonat Marisa
Laboratory of SENASA made an introductory presentation on mite species of
agricultural importance and quarantine for the area, biology and symptoms,
sampling, packaging and shipment to the laboratory. They were attended by
the representatives of Senasa Regional Center NOA, staff of the Ministry of
Economic Development and production of the province and technicians from
INTA Yuto EECT. The meeting was organized by the Department of Entomology
and acarology Coordination Pest and Plant Disease and Bioinsumos of Plant
Laboratory address along with the NOA Regional Center.
