RUBINSTEIN LED NATIONAL MEETING CONCERNING SEXUAL HEALTH AND REPRODUCTIVE
For two days, representatives from across the country shared experiences
and actions to ensure sexual and reproductive health. Tuesday 07 May 2019.
The Government Secretary of Health, Adolfo Rubinstein, today inaugurated
the National Meeting Concerning Sexual and Reproductive Health for two days
addresses the main strategies of the Government Department of Health to
strengthen access for all the population's sexual and reproductive
rights. "The state must protect sexual and reproductive rights and ensure
that the regulations now in force are met," Rubinstein said during the
opening of the meeting that brought together the leaders across the
country. "For me it is very important to be on this journey to give strong
support to the work they are doing all teams in the provinces," he added.
For its part, the director of Sexual and Reproductive Health, Silvia
Oizerovich, said that "this is a very important day in which we will work
together with the provinces aspects related to the guarantee of sexual
rights and reproductive rights, we return the comprehensive approach to
legal abortion and also work on sexual and reproductive rights specifically
for people with disabilities. " During the first day upgrade work is doing
the Directorate of Sexual and Reproductive Health on the Protocol for
Comprehensive Care of Persons with Right to Legal Abortion Protocol (ILE),
which includes, among other topics presented, the latest wHO
recommendations and progress in recognizing the rights of adolescents and
people with disabilities to access ILE included in the Argentine Civil Code
was amended in 2015. in addition, concerning sexual health and reproductive
24 provinces and 12 health regions in the province of Buenos Aires,
conducted a critical analysis of cases to assess and identify obstacles and
facilitating access to ILE in order to develop local strategies to ensure
the right to interrupt in accordance with national law, according to
international medical standards. strategies to promote sexual health and
reproductive health in the territory and regional referents counted on a
swap with national technical teams to address the situation of services in
the provinces were also shared. For the second day, the agenda includes
evaluation of the actions that are being developed in the provinces to
ensure gender identity law. Then a workshop on (sexual, reproductive
freedom, obstetric) violence and prospects boarding will take place. The
day will conclude with the presence of the lawyer Carolina Buceta, member
of the Network for the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (REDI) and
member of the Advisory Board, who will speak on sexual and reproductive
rights of people with disabilities to advance training of local teams in an
inclusive and respectful perspective.
