MACRI INDONESIA IS A KEY TRADING PARTNER FOR THE PRESENT AND THE FUTURE OF ARGENTINA
President Mauricio Macri said in Jakarta that the Republic of Indonesia
represents "one of the most dynamic economies in Asia" and constitutes "a
key to the present and the future of Argentina trading partner." "Our
economies are complementary and have great potential to further expand and
diversify bilateral trade, as one of the pillars of our partnership," he
remarked the head of state. Macri referred in these terms to share this
afternoon, as part of his state visit to China, a joint statement with
Indonesian President Joko Widodo, at the Presidential Palace in Bogor. The
President said the meeting held two delegations was "very productive"
because "we find coincidences that will allow us to deepen ties between our
countries, with the aim of improving the quality of life of Argentine and
Indonesian". "In Argentina, for three and a half years ago we started the
way towards greater fiscal responsibility, more jobs, clear rules and a
more efficient state accompanying the initiative of enterprises," he said.
He stressed that, from that change, the country is "integrating the world
in intelligent and pragmatic way". "We seek partners with common interests,
with which we can promote more exchanges and cooperation to provide
development opportunities for our people," he said. He noted that both
Argentina and Indonesia are "global food producers," a condition
that "opens a huge field to work together, especially in technical
cooperation, agricultural machinery and biotechnology." "On this visit we
want to strengthen our ties and expand to strategic sectors such as
education, sports, agro-industry, nuclear energy and aviation industry," he
said. He said both countries "have prominent roles in their respective
regions" and share "global challenges and an area where the G20 to address
them." "We seek to strengthen multilateralism and plural rule-based
international order," said Macri, adding that "we continue to work together
and preserve the consensus reached" at the G20 Leaders Summit held in
