NICOLAS DUJOVNE ATTENDED THE IAIS GLOBAL SEMINAR

The officer closed the 12th Global Seminar of the International Association
of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS for its acronym in English) that took place
in the CCK.

Finance Minister closed the event where the strategic plan IAIS regulatory
and systemic risks in the insurance sector, among other topics discussed.
Dujovne said that the insurance sector plays a critical role in the
stability of the real economy: "Insurers provide financial protection to
individuals and businesses against the risks they face, whether due to
natural disasters that affect their assets and livelihoods, and risks
related to inadequate retirement savings or events that affect the ability
to generate revenue. "
In this regard, the Minister considered that insurance can provide new and
creative solutions to many of the challenges facing countries worldwide
responses, not only through the development of innovative products to
enhance economic resilience, but also as provider resources for long-term
goals.
In addition, Dujovne explained the measures that the Argentine government
implemented to promote the sector: "We have started providing incentives to
improve our insurance sector. Through a presidential decree we increased
the tax deductible premium life insurance and retirement; increase the
amount by 12 times, which gave huge profits to the sector. These
regulations had not been changed in 27 years. "
"We recently promulgated the Law of Productive Financing, which will
encourage better use of instruments for private savings and catalyze the
long-term investment," he concluded.
The Superintendent of Insurance of the Nation (SSN) is, for the first time
hosting the event which brought together regulators from around the world
and representatives of national and international industry.
