Puerto Buenos Aires began expansion works from his support in part of its
Port Modernization Plan Puerto Buenos Aires. With these works, which have
already invested USD 75 million, it is continued progress in reducing
logistics time, in improving port operations and achieving a more
competitive port infrastructure, technology and costs.
Zone Port Support is an area located on the sixth breakwater of the port
jurisdiction, opposite the renovated Dock E at Av. Costanera Rafael
Obligado and serves as a waiting area and rest for the 2300 truckers
arriving per day to port leaving or removing containers. The work recently
initiated require an investment of $ 32,438,400 + VAT and will allow to add
70 new parking spaces, totaling 125 and improving vehicle rotation. The
work performed at the site also include conducting an electrical
installation and storm drains, the construction of manholes, paving and
placement of lighting columns and provision of LED luminaires. Moreover,
the trucks will access directly to the advancing ZAP tasks pre-gate and
reducing waiting times in the terminals.
Since 2017, when he won the concession of land that until then was
exploited by the company IVETRA - the same firm that demanded irregular and
extorsive so buying insurance TAP to enter the port - the rate of income
bonifico thereto, generating savings of USD 2.70000 for exporters and the
number of authorized vehicles it is considerably expanded to entering the
premises. Before the dealer who was randomly decided who could enter and
wait on the campus who should do so on Av. Castillo, generating numerous
traffic jams. Now, all trucks arriving at the port enter the ZAP and make
it through the recently opened Paseo del Bajo, a trace of 7.1 kilometers,
barrier and exclusive heavy traffic, connecting the south of the city with
the north in 7 minutes.
"We are moving forward with works that had never been done by unwillingness
of political decisions and mismanagement of funds from the port. Since 2016
the port does not receive more funding from the National Treasury and still
move forward with works by more than USD 75 million, this is something
never happened in the history of the national port. When we started our
management had a very clear goal: lower costs, modernize infrastructure and
improve access to the various means of transportation for producers in the
most remote areas do not lose competitiveness against those found near the
port, we knew it was the only way to return the federal role and the
results show us that we are on the right track "- Gonzalo Mórtola,
Comptroller of Puerto Buenos Aires.
